The Senior Histology Technician will prepare and stain surgical specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by the pathologist in an accurate, precise and timely manner in order to assist the pathologist in providing appropriate quality patient care. The incumbent will maintain a working knowledge of department standard operating procedures. This knowledge includes the use of specialized instrumentation, quality control requirements, and preventive maintenance. This may include logging, batching, cutting, mounting and staining procedures of tissue specimens. The Senior Histology Technician will further assist and act as a resource person for the pathologists in the department.
