This position is within the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service for Boise Health Care located at the Caldwell VA Clinic in Caldwell, Idaho. The Medical Technician performs a variety of functions, including accession specimens into computer system; collects, evaluates, and processes patient specimens; answers questions relative to specimens; instructs and assists patients; and sends out specimens for testing. IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-05 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING: ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English in order to meet the requirements of this position.
