Job Description
Assistant or Associate Attending, Cancer Care Delivery at Home- Department of Medicine
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is one of the world's premier cancer centers, committed to exceptional patient care, leading-edge research, and superb educational programs. The blending of research with patient care is at the heart of everything we do. The institution is a comprehensive cancer center whose purposes are the treatment and control of cancer, the advancement of biomedical knowledge through laboratory and clinical research, and the training of scientists, physicians, and other health care workers.
The Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (https://www.mskcc.org/departments/medicine)
is seeking two full-time faculty members at the Assistant or Associate Attending level to build capacity for delivering high quality cancer to patients in their homes. Faculty recruits will be resourced to grow a program of systematic research that includes effectiveness and implementation-focused trials testing home-based approaches to cancer care in specific clinical contexts. Faculty recruits are expected to build MSK@Home, a program that shifts some components of oncology care away from the hospital and clinic by harnessing technology and innovative delivery models.
The ideal candidate should:
- Be motivated to grow a hospital at home program and/or a chemotherapy at home program in partnership with teams of experts in systems engineering, nursing, health informatics and health services research as well as clinicians.
- Be board-certified or board-eligible in medical oncology or hematology. Individuals from other disciplines with relevant expertise designing and deploying health-system level interventions are also eligible. Clinical work will be matched to candidate's interests and programmatic needs.
- Have training in population science, health services and informatics. Those with creativity and motivation to build a new program are ideal candidates for these faculty positions.
- Prior expertise and experience in this new field is less important than critical thinking, the ability to work with teams, navigate complexity and to design and execute rigorous studies with the potential to transform how we organize and deliver oncology care.
