Under general supervision, the Histotechnologist is responsible for:
Preparing microscopic slides for diagnostic purposes.
Performing diagnostic tests.
Maintaining laboratory equipment and records.
Providing instruction and being a resource to others.
Possessing a working knowledge and theory of histologic techniques Immunohistochemistry and Special Stain techniques and histology automation
Possessing excellent knowledge of the AP LIS system.

2 year/Associate Degree - OR - combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Associate Degree

In Fiscal Year 2023, the lab performed 8.5 million tests (including Chemistry, Cytology, Flow Cytometry, Hematology, Coagulation, Histology, Microbiology, Point of Care Testing, Transfusion Services and Urinalysis), 122,751 Anatomical Pathology tests, and 404,139 combined inpatient & outpatient phlebotomy draws. The department consists of over 200 medical laboratory professionals.
