GI of the Rockies is seeking a qualified Pathologist to provide professional pathology services on a PRN basis. This role focuses exclusively on the interpretation of gastrointestinal specimens, delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality diagnostic reports. The ideal candidate is board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology and has fellowship training or substantial experience in GI pathology.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret gastrointestinal biopsy and resection specimens, including esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon. Render accurate, clear, and timely pathology reports
Provide consultative support to gastroenterologists and other clinicians as needed
Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities
Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory and accreditation standards
Maintain complete and accurate documentation within the laboratory information system
Work collaboratively with laboratory and clinical staff
Minimum Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Completion of an accredited residency in Pathology
Board certification or board eligibility in Anatomic Pathology
Fellowship training or significant experience in Gastrointestinal Pathology
Active, unrestricted medical license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Colorado
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high-volume GI pathology practice
Strong diagnostic skills in inflammatory, neoplastic, and functional GI disorders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with clinical partners
Work Schedule
This is a PRN position. Hours will be scheduled based on practice needs, which may include coverage for planned absences, increased case volume, or special projects. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours.
Compensation
Competitive daily rate of $150/ hr based on experience and scope of work. Candidates are preferred to maintain their own professional liability coverage.
