As a CHKD Clinical Laboratory Scientist, your responsibilities include:

• Performing and assisting with a variety of clinical laboratory test procedures.
• Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Functioning in a lead or charge role when assigned to support daily lab operations.
• Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide accurate and timely results.
• Participating in continuous quality improvement and regulatory readiness.
• Supporting a safe and efficient work environment for patients and staff.

Applicants must meet these qualifications:

• Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or equivalent area of study.
• Six to twelve months of laboratory training or experience.
• CPR certification required (or must be obtained within 45 days of hire).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognize and respond to abnormal or critical results.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clinical staff.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) preferred.
