This position is responsible for all activities with blood and blood components including, but not limited to, logging-in the units, thawing plasma, thawing and pooling cryoprecipitate, irradiate products and washing RBCs; setting up patient or blood product samples for testing by a technologist/automated machine; maintenance of lab equipment. Responsibilities: Handles blood and blood products by accessioning patient samples, spinning down the blood in the centrifuge and logging all blood products in the computer Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of medical laboratory equipment.
