In this role, you’ll prepare and test blood component samples to ensure they meet established quality control standards. You’ll also communicate directly with both internal and external customers, using sound judgment, professionalism, and tact—especially when responding to critical situations like positive bacterial cultures.

In this role, you will:
Perform the essential duties of a QC Tech III at a highly proficient level.
Communicate with internal and external customers when positive bacterial cultures are identified.
Initiate recall procedures for products with confirmed contamination.
Ensure that follow-up testing is performed, documented, and communicated appropriately.
Review QC documents in the absence of a Supervisor or Manager.
Manage daily QC Laboratory operations in the absence of a Supervisor or Manager.
Track and trend quality control results from testing equipment.
Serve as lead trainer for new hires and lead competency assessor for the team.
Monitor staff workflow and coordinate task distribution for improved efficiency.
Identify and recommend process improvements for laboratory operations.
Complete at least 12 hours of continuing education annually to maintain professional growth.
We need someone who has:
MT/MLS from an accredited program with ASCP (or equivalent) certification
At least 2 years of experience in Hematology
Experience in Flow Cytometry is a plus
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
