Inspects/issues compatible blood and blood products for transfusion, and performs visual and temperature check on returned blood; disposes of improperly stored/labeled, punctured, outdated, contaminated or hemolyzed blood according to approved procedures. Monitors blood and blood product inventory to ensure adequate supply for patient transfusion, orders blood and blood products when indicated; monitors inventory of reagents and other Blood Bank supplies and notifies Blood Bank Supervisor or Leads when supply is low.
