This position is eligible for a $15,000 Sign-on Bonus for well qualified and experienced candidates. This bonus will be prorated for Part Time or Per Diem positions.

Under the indirect supervision of a Pathologist, Pathology Assistant or Histology Management, performs specific tasks and duties to include but not limited to the macroscopic gross description, dissection, and processing of designated surgical specimens. The level (complexity) of specimens grossed will depend on the level of competency of the Grossing Technician and the needs of the department.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education:Must have an associate degree in a biological or chemical science or medical laboratory technology or qualify as a medical technologist with a bachelor degree from an accredited institution, or earned a bachelor degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science.
License/Certifications:Certification as a Pathologist Assistant, Histotechnician or Histotechnologist by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP) is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in surgical gross examination is preferred.
Ability to learn and work efficiently with a variety of laboratory computer systems.
Accurate data entry skills are required.
Must be able to work any shift, holiday and/or weekend as needed.
Must be able to travel among company sites as needed.
Satisfactorily demonstrates competency in accordance with competency assessments for the position.
