St. Luke's Health System in Boise is seeking a MRI Technologist to join our team.
This position will support a flex schedule to cover PTO, sick days etc. with opportunity to pick up additional shifts and cross train to other modalities.
Position SummaryThe MRI Technologist is responsible for providing technical/clinical support to the Imaging Department.
Responsibilities
The MRI Technologist is responsible for providing technical/clinical support to the Imaging Department.
- Collect key information from the patient, family, provider, and nurses that are specific to the exam being performed in order to assist the provider in the proper diagnosis. - Educate patient, family or provider as to the extent and detail of each procedure, including informed consent as well as pre-and post-procedure instructions. - Ensure patient is properly dressed and screened before entering MRI safety zone 3. Adhere to MRI safety zones (1-4) per policy. - Assist provider during invasive procedures. - Research and document patients' medical history to assure that the patient is safe to be in the MRI environment. Verify completeness and accuracy of MRI patient screening questionnaire. - Ensure the proper exam is being administered to the patient. Ensure proper patient positioning, coil selection and coil positioning. Consult provider as needed. - Maintain proper inventory levels of all supplies as required. - Perform daily equipment inspections. Participate in call rotation as needed. - Performs the most advanced tasks with no supervision. Subject matter expert in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. - Responsible for American College of Radiology (ACR) MRI testing/accreditation requirements, site specific. - Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. - Responsible for ensuring patient care needs are met through effective management of staffing resources and operations. - Lead and mentor others, acting as the first point of escalation. Provide peer-peer feedback and maintain competencies of staff. May perform quality control. - Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: None
- Licenses/Certifications:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
- OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider certification.
