Position Summary: Responsible for a wide variety of activities related to quality assurance and/or quality control to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This may include assisting with the development of quality assurance systems and procedures, as well as assisting with auditing processes as applicable for FDA/MQSA and ACR submissions. Perform a variety of duties in administering X-rays and radiopaque substances to patients. Performs radiographic and mammography procedures of a highly specialized nature. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in the following mammography procedures: screening and diagnostic mammogram, wire needle localization, galactogram, fine needle aspiration, and stereotactic breast biopsy. Demonstrates competency in bone densitometry and quality control testing. Meets the requirements as set forth by MQSA standards.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Review procedures, specifications and submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance of all documentation required by vendor QA/QC systems and FDA/MQSA and ACR.
Assists with auditing internal QA systems and procedures to ensure compliance with established procedures.
Ensure required periodic activities as defined in QA systems such as outcome auditing, personnel training, equipment maintenance and calibration per vendor requirements.
Maintains knowledge of QA requirements, systems and best practices.
Prepares room, equipment, medicine and materials as needed for patients.
Cleans and disinfects x-ray room/equipment.
Assists with the preparations of chemical mixtures for mammography biopsies and exams.
Assists radiologists in the administration of intravenous and subcutaneous material.
Prepares patientor exam. Explains procedure, positions patient and assists patient at close of procedure.
Follows prescribed techniques in administering general and specific x-rays. Adjusts equipment. Determines proper technique. Determines image quality before transmitting exam to PACS.
Ensures images have transferred adequately to PACS and radiologist workstation.
Assist in the performance of quality control testing as needed.
Assists in training new staff members.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an approved school of Radiographic Technology.
Skills: Screening, Diagnostic, Interventional Breast Procedures
Experience: Minimum 5 years mammography.
Certification: Registered ARRT in Radiography and Mammography; New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. BLS-American Heart Assoc.
