The lead medical technologist position is for our VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare system working as a generalist in blood bank, chemistry, coagulation, hematology and urinalysis. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Medical Technologist must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, chapter 2, section D, paragraph 5a. You must have a current and active certification as either an MT, MLS, or CLS given by the ASCP-BOC, ASCP-BOR, or AMT.
