Atlantic Health System is seeking a Part Time Clinical Lab Assistant II for the Core Lab at Newton Medical Center to work 10pm - 6am 3 days per week including every other weekend.

Receives and processes specimen within the laboratory. Assists with materials management and quality control procedures. Uses basic instrumentation and performs preventative maintenance

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and /or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform instrument maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all standard operating procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
• Perform testing on trained processes following standard operating procedures
• Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining up to date inventory

Minimum Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• AAS degree preferred

Minimum Experience:

• Previous lab experience preferred
• Comfortable with handling biological specimen
• Ability to accurately identify specimen
• Basic computer knowledge
• High level attention to detail with ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established turnaround time
• Ability to sit and /or stand for extended periods of time
