Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking a part time (0.7 FTE) Clinical Pathologist to join our busy medical practice in Springfield, MO. The practice is currently comprised of 7 AP/CP pathologists who have been covering the clinical pathology and medical director responsibilities in addition to the surgical and cytopathology case work. We are interested in a board-certified clinical pathologist whose primary job responsibilities will be to oversee all Medical Director duties for the main lab (CAP-accredited) and surrounding critical access hospitals and laboratories. Mercy Hospital Springfield is an 877 bed tertiary care facility with a level 1 trauma center.

Excellent team of technical supervisors and lab staff; just completed CAP inspection with few deficiencies

A strong culture of collaboration with the primarily anatomic pathologists
Ability to collaborate with clinicians by serving on relevant hospital committees
Position requires:
Board certification in Clinical Pathology. Transfusion Medicine boards would be preferable but not required
Transfusion Medicine coverage (after-hours calls are infrequent and colleagues cover during vacation)
Ability to hold at least 3 CLIA certificates
Some travel to surrounding critical access hospitals for periodic lab visits
