Job Summary:

The Sterile Processing Technician works under the supervision of the manager or designee in maintaining, disinfecting, sterilization and processing of surgical instruments and supplies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Maintain a clean, orderly work area while handling various types of equipment, instruments, and supplies used during surgical procedures.
* Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instrumentation, equipment and supplies for the OR and other areas as needed.
* Keeps accurate quality control records regarding Bowie-Dick Tests, Biologics and individual load records.
* Ensures adequate inventory of necessary supplies for Sterile Processing department and orders as needed.
* Transports sterile supplies and equipment to other areas of the hospital.
* Maintains and cares for equipment and supplies. Documents maintenance and repairs.
* Maintains department records, reports and files as required.
* Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs.
* Consistently provides accurate and complete hand-off communication to any healthcare provider according to hospital policy.
* Attends 80% of all department meetings and required to review and initial all department minutes missed.
* Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

POSITION SHIFT

PRN: 8-hour or 10-hour day shift. Start time is flexible.

1-2 shifts per week.

Must be available to work weekends if needed.
