LSU Health New Orleans/LCMC Health Cancer Center Seeks a Genetic Counselor to Join Their Growing Faculty | Change the Landscape of Cancer Care in Louisiana | Inaugural Opportunity to Develop an NCI-Designated Cancer Care Center | Live in World-Renowned New Orleans

The LSU Health New Orleans/LCMC Health Cancer Center in historic, highly desirable New Orleans seeks a Genetic Counselor. Primary duties include genetic education, counseling, and supporting patients and/or families with genetic disorders, birth defects, or who may be at risk for inherited conditions. The counselor will also serve across the comprehensive academic health sciences center in several specialty clinics, including a general genetics clinic, metabolic clinic, bone marrow transplant clinic, cystic fibrosis clinic, hearing loss clinic, maternal-fetal medicine, neurofibromatosis clinic, disorders of sexual development clinic, and more. The genetic counselor will have the opportunity to participate in groundbreaking research and collaborate with amazing departments, including pediatrics and maternal-fetal medicine.

Opportunity Highlights

• Partner with the Director of Genetic Medicine in a mission-oriented practice focused on changing the landscape of cancer care in Louisiana and the surrounding states
• LaNasa Greco Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's Hospital New Orleans actively participates in clinical and basic research of childhood cancers and blood disorders and is a member of the Children's Oncology Group (COG), a nationwide Children's Cancer Study Group
• Provide compassionate clinical care and participate in research and academic pursuits as desired
• Collaborate with Pediatric and Maternal Fetal Medicine Faculty on clinical and research efforts
• Robust molecular pathology team and strong medical informatics system already in place, which creates an environment ripe for clinical and research success
