SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position is for a true generalist: with knowledge of clinical chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, microbiology, and Immunohematology (Blood Bank). Individual performs and reports various analysis of multiple specimen sources. Daily responsibilities include routine instrument maintenance, quality control, performance of laboratory testing in all of the departments. Individual performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients for all age ranges.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

Bachelors of Science Degree required and one (1) year in a laboratory training program or a medical technology program.

Must take the MT/MLS American Society of Clinical Pathology Exam (ASCP) within one (1) year of hire.

*Will also consider Medical Lab Technicians that meet this requirement:

Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution required.
