IU Health Pathology Laboratory System Services offers some of the most comprehensive laboratory services in Indiana for both clinical and anatomic pathology!
Monday - Friday; 1:00pm-9:00pm
100% outpatient (laboratory work)
Diverse and complex specimen case load; will be comprised of surgical pathology specimens within the adult populations in our system. The expected volumes would include surgical specimens of a wide range of types and complexities.
Practice locations include the IU Health Central Pathology Lab
Team currently includes 52 Pathologists, 7 Pathologists' Assistants, and 2 Grossing Techs
Position will require a training period with orientation specific to our system, as well as specific to the technical protocols expected by our staff physicians.
The pathologists’ assistant position will include surgical pathology specimen grossing for the adult patient population within our system.
Candidate will be required to have trained in a NAACLS accredited pathologists’ assistant program with ASCP board certification.

The IU Health Pathology Laboratory resides in a 150,000-square-foot dedicated central laboratory building in downtown Indianapolis with first-class facilities. The lab processes over 100,000 cases per year, and houses an electron microscopy laboratory, eight full-time certified pathologists’ assistants, twenty residents and eleven different fellowships.
