In this position, the Senior Lab Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations and administration of all departments of this busy laboratory. This role will provide leadership to department Managers and Supervisors to promote a positive environment and provide the necessary tools to increase laboratory performance including implementation of operational improvements, quality performance and operational efficiency, promote a culture of regulatory compliance as well as patient service and customer satisfaction.

The schedule for this position: Day shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operational activities of the laboratory

• Ensure adequate staffing of all department; monitor staffing plan to ensure adequate coverage and proper use of overtime

• Directly supervisor, train, and mentor Managers and Supervisors

• Ensure the laboratory provides excellent service levels; meeting performance metrics and customer needs

• Resolve customer inquiries and operational issues in a timely manner.  Investigate deviations from established procedures to ensure effective corrective action.

• Ensure laboratory is compliant with regulatory requirements related to personnel safety and quality of laboratory testing as well as professional conduct.

• Ensure effective communication with leadership, direct reports, departmental staff, and inter-departmental staff.

Education/Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or related life science.

• Minimum of 7 years of Clinical Diagnostic testing experience, must meet CLIA requirements.

• 5+ years of supervisory/management experience.

• ASCP/AMT certifications not required but highly preferred.

• Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, AABB, and other relevant state regulations.

• Proven success in leading Managers and/or Supervisors

• Ability to problem solve and provide solutions

• Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

• Comfortable making decisions in a changing environment.
