The position serves as a Medical Technician for Phlebotomy and Specimen Receiving within Laboratory Service at the VAMC Grand Junction. The position performs Phlebotomy, specimen testing, storage, and specimens shipping. The position performs Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waived point of care testing. The position is responsible for inventory control, record control, specimen collection and processing, quality improvement activities, and the primary-for-phlebotomy functions.
