This pivotal supervisor position is essential to the daily operations and efficiency of our Microbiology/Virology Lab team. This role will allow you to utilize your experience and skills within a variety of routine and complex management duties, including:
Overseeing all aspects of our Medical Technology operations within the Microbiology/Virology Lab, including work assignments, problem resolution, technical development and procedure implementation, inventory and purchasing.
Performing evaluations and monitoring competencies of technical staff.
Ensuring procedures and methods are performed according to section protocol and that quality assurance standards are met.
Providing technical expertise in the use, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of all laboratory instruments, equipment and reagents.
Performing routine and specialized procedures as necessary and assuming further operational responsibility in absence of the department manager.
We are seeking bachelor’s-trained, certified or experienced Medical Technologist candidates with a current license as a state of Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in Microbiology or Virology Labs or who have eligibility for a temporary license, which must be permanent within one year of hire. Applicants with ASCP certification are highly desired. Candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience as a Medical Technologist, preferably with at least one year in a lead or supervisory position.
