Nemours is seeking an Anatomic Pathology Supervisor (Full-Time, Day Shift), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.

This position is responsible for: Gross analysis of surgical specimens, the performance of technical procedures in cytology and histology, oversight of technical procedures in histology and cytology, and training of staff.

• Performs gross analysis of surgical specimens for pathologists' review.
• Accurately identifies and describes specimen types submitted for analysis.
• Dictates findings of analysis in a timely manner.
• Accurately accessions specimens.
• Assists pathologist in the management of the Anatomic Pathology laboratory including work assignments and scheduling.
• Functions as histology technologist when necessary including preparation of frozen sections.
• Stains, mounts and performs microscopic evaluation of cell samples from gyn and non-gyn specimens; screens slides for presence or absence of normal or abnormal cellular changes. Performs fine needle aspiration specimen preparation.
• Participates in department and hospital quality and improvement programs.
• Maintains quality control standards within CAP and CUA guidelines.
• Responsible for staff training, performance, hiring, and new technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Minimum of five (5) + years experience required.
• State of Florida Supervisor License in Histology or Cytology (Required or eligible).
• State of Florida Technologist License in Histology and/or Cytology (Required if not licensed as a Supervisor in both).
