Histotechnician
Job Summary Under minimal supervision, independently performs all duties specializing in preparing microscopic tissue samples and the special staining of requested samples needed by the pathologist. Performs and maintains all quality control and maintenance records required in the laboratory. Education: 1. High School Graduate or Equivalent prior to January 2, 2005; or 2. Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program; or 3. 60 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry combined with one year full time acceptable experience in histopathology;
