Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Medical Laboratory Scientist I in the Core Lab at Chilton Medical Center to work evening shifts from 2:30pm - 10:30pm including every other weekend.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities of Position:

• Perform testing in the laboratory and report results according to SOP
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment
• Perform quality control tasks and maintain laboratory documentation according to SOP
• Maintain and manage laboratory inventory
• Provide laboratory information to others on the patient care team
• Maintain competencies and continuing education

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

• Associate's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution required

Education:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Foreign graduates require equivalency evaluation documentation required

Certifications:

• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred

Relevant Experience:

• Previous laboratory experience preferred, but not necessary; new graduates welcome
