Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Ultrasnd Techn-Spec (MFM).
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate and record pertinent anatomical, pathological and functional data. Operates ultrasound equipment to make quality images; performs studies in required modalities. Provides training, guidance to Ultrasound technologists and students.
Job Responsibilities:
- Alerts the appropriate medical staff of abnormalities that require immediate attention. Compares present echocardiograms to previous studies to monitor changes in present status. Carries out assignments within a realistic time frame.
- Write reports upon completion of the scan. Documents the scans according to the departmental procedures. Enters, maintains, and records all pertinent patient data.
- Usage of highly technical equipment to produce scans and conduct procedures.
- Uses advanced judgment when determining if the procedure was sufficient for proper diagnoses, or if additional imaging procedures are needed.
- Alerts the appropriate medical staff of abnormalities that require immediate attention. Compares current to previous studies to monitor changes in status when applicable. Carries out assignments within a realistic time frame.
- Utilizes patient chart in obtaining pertinent history as necessary. Obtains information important to the study that is not included in the chart by contacting referrring physician office or radiologist.
- Observes and instructs students, fellows, residents, and lower level techs.
- Independently implements patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
- .Solves problems that arise during patient examinations using both technical knowledge and innovation.
- Utilizes advanced expertise and problem-solving skills to assist staff in the performance of difficult cases and troubleshooting technical problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must be registered as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in OBGYN. Nuchal translucency certification (NTQR/FMF) required within 3 months of hire. Completion of an approved ultrasound technology educational program. College graduate is preferred.
Required Licenses: Nuchal Translucency Cert, Am Rgtry Diagn Med Sonographer
Preferred Qualifications:
ARDMs Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certtification
