About the Position:

Position Summary:
At Matrix Clinical Labs, the Medical Technologist play an essential role in providing diagnostic testing to patients and physicians. Medical Technologist, under the direction of the laboratory supervisor, is responsible for performing laboratory diagnostics tests that includes hematology, chemistry, general immunology, and urinalysis according to established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Responsibilities:
- Insures proper processing of patient specimen handling in accordance with the laboratory SOPs
- Performs technical laboratory procedures with high degree of accuracy and efficiency
- Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results. (Including performing delta checks, etc.)
- Review pending logs and result logs; resolve any outstanding workload or communicate to staff relief
- Handle all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results according to established procedures and in a timely manner
- Participate in routine laboratory tasks
- Document results in the laboratory information management software (LIMS) system and worksheets
- Perform daily maintenance and monitor the laboratory equipment
- Troubleshoot instrumentation issues
- Assist with the development and upkeep of SOPs
- Assist with the training of new laboratory personnel
- Maintain sufficient inventory of laboratory supplies for daily operations
- Strictly adheres to established quality management procedures and policies
- Comply with all laboratory policies and OSHA, CAP, CLIA, and additional state regulations related to safety, cleanliness and infection control
- Other duties as assigned
Must Haves:
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required
- 2+ years of laboratory experience required
- Ability to work nights or weekends, as needed
- Ability to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner
- Ability to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Apply strong communication skills; ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers, and customers
- Apply a high attention to detail with strong quality orientation

- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical, biological or related discipline
