In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.

*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.

Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.

Job Description

Cytopathology is a branch of pathology that focuses on the study and diagnosis of diseases on the cellular level. Our main cytology laboratory accepts and evaluates specimens, including fine needle aspirations (FNA), to detect non-neoplastic, precancerous and cancerous lesions. We enter medical diagnostic data from slides and reports into our system, review microscopic diagnoses for inconsistencies and verify corrections with appropriate pathologist or technical personnel.

You Will:

• Abstract from patient's charts data relevant to specific studies under evaluation by the clinician
• Contact physicians and patients in accordance with study requirements to obtain and compile data for preparation of manuscripts for publication
• Accurately enter data and maintain database of abstracts on file
• Provide clerical and administrative support to Principal Investigators
• Assist the Personal Consult Secretaries in accessioning incoming submitted material and return of slides
• Provide telephone coverage using the correct techniques and procedures when receiving and making calls

You Have:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2-4 years of relevant experience

Hours: Monday-Friday, 2p-10p with flexibility, training 9a-5p or 10a-6p for 3 months approximately
