Position Summary

This is an onsite full time position. Monday to Friday – evenings hours from 1:00 pm to 9:30pm. This position oversees Microbiology/Molecular Diagnostics section and has 12 to 14 direct reports. Phoenix Children’s Hospital has a great work culture and growing! We are looking for an individual who are willing to lead and inspire in one of the largest children’s hospital in the country. There is currently a $5,000 sign-on bonus attached to this position.

This position works collaboratively with section director, manager, and leadership team to provide technical supervision for assigned staff to ensure high quality daily technical operations. Achieve and comply with established operating budget, quality control, inventory management and regulatory standards. This position receives managerial review of completed work activities from Laboratory Manager.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field or combination of
  education and experience. (Required)
• Meet technical or general supervisor qualifications as defined by CLIA-88 (Required)

Experience

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in field of specialization in clinical settings. (Required)
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as Medical Lab Scientist in clinical laboratory settings (Preferred)
• Previous leadership experience (Preferred)
• Pediatric experience. (Preferred)

Certifications

• Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Technologist in field of specialization ASCP Certification or equivalent (Required)
• Specialist in field of specialization ASCP Certification. (Preferred)
