Position Summary

Performs Laboratory testing and/or prepares blood components. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures. This knowledge includes the use of specialized analytical instrumentation, clinical correlation of test results, quality control requirements, and preventative maintenance. Supports the laboratory mission. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process through professional development, continuing education, research and development, and quality assurance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

• Analyzes laboratory testing in a timely and accurate manner.
• Relays results to clinical team in an effort to contribute to the overall plan of care.
• Remains detailed oriented in their work production to foster continuous improvement and compliance.
• Utilizes laboratory equipment appropriately and efficiently to examine and analyze various specimens.
• Works collaboratively with the care team to monitor patient outcomes and perform various differential cell counts analyzing for abnormal cells to aid in the treatment and diagnosis.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
