Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Laboratory Technologist - Andrology & Endocrinology /NYUW Reproductive Specialists.
In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for providing patients with precise and accurate laboratory results for the purpose of infertility assessment and management. The technologist is responsible for performing Andrology and Endocrinology laboratory services in accordance with the Andrology and Endocrinology Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures Manual and for maintaining the laboratory in a continuous state of readiness for necessary regulatory agency inspections, and for ensuring that appropriate and competitive standards for laboratory operation are maintained at all times.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform other accountabilities as required
- Study and review Andrology and Endocrinology Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures Manual and become familiar with quality assurance, quality control, safety procedures, and operating guidelines for performing laboratory services. Study and review OSHA requirements and ensure adherence.
- Responsible for performing laboratory procedures including the Semen Analysis, Sperm preparation for Intra-Uterine Insemination, Semen Cryopreservation. Perform hormone assays for infertility patients. Participate in laboratory proficiency testing programs. Responsible for the maintenance of Quality Control and Quality Assurance. Maintain supplies and inventory and act as departmental liaison for patient-related problems and reporting of patient results. Ensure operation of equipment by coordinating and overseeing the completion of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions and arranging for repairs. Work with the billing department to maintain and manage Cryopreservation inventory, and assure timely and accurate billing.
- Work cooperatively with a multidisciplinary team to provide quality patient care while meeting the objectives and goals of the practice.
- May take on supervisory duties in the absent of the supervisor/management.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Biology or in the field of Science.
Proven ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
Knowledge of Microsoft office and ability to operate office machines.
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to work in a high standard, stressful environment.
Ability to communicate accurately and concisely.
Must demonstrate an aptitude for laboratory services.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Attend practice and department meetings as requested.
Rotate through all RS of NY laboratory locations.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and society meetings, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks.
Follow all state regulations regarding professional license..

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in male/female medicine and/or infertility a plus.
