Texas Oncology is looking for a PRN Phlebotomist Sr. to join our team! This full time position will support and work at our Odessa, Texas location. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country and has approximately 600+ providers in 220+ sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. Responsibilities:
What does the Phlebotomist do?

The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting and processing of specimens from patients. Assists with patient flow as needed.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Will work front desk to process incoming orders for lab testing.
  • Properly processes labeled specimens according to policy and procedures.
  • Performs phlebotomy and collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.
  • Assures pre-authorizations and completes appropriate consent (ABN) prior to collection of limited coverage tests.
  • Maintains proper documentation as described by the quality assurance program, including accessioning logs, equipment records and checklists.
  • Other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Phlebotomist position will have the following background and experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Phlebotomist ACHP preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year phlebotomy experience required.
  • Willing to consider entry and mid-level experience.
  • Must be proficient in drawing blood and must be comfortable with waived testing.
  • Multi-Tasking, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
