Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University

The Center for Inflammation & Lung Research, Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University located in Philadelphia, PA, invites applications for a full time, tenure-track appointment at the Associate or Assistant Professor level. The CILR is undergoing an expansion, and we are currently recruiting a faculty investigator. Faculty candidates will be considered in all areas of immunology, physiology, biochemistry and/or molecular biology with an interest in the pathogenesis of lung inflammation. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of Fellows in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.  The position will be supported by a competitive start up package, and academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:

  • PhD, or equivalent degree
  • Post-doctoral experience, excellent communications skills and a record of productivity in the study of inflammatory disease states.
  • Candidates at the Assistant Professor level should have federal funding, and a substantial trajectory toward developing a rigorous, stable externally funded research program.
  • Candidates at the Associate Professor level should have a national scientific reputation, current research funding and a history of mentorship and leadership.
  • Candidates should be eager to participate in a highly collaborative environment, which includes significant interactions with clinical research investigators.

Center for Inflammation & Lung Research

The Center for Inflammation and Lung Research (CILR) is composed of basic, pre-clinical, translational and clinical researchers who are interested in the pathogenesis of lung disease, and other inflammatory disease states. Investigators in the CILR study both acute and chronic inflammatory disease using a combination of in vitro and animal model systems, as well as patients being seen by physicians in the Department of Thoracic Medicine and Surgery. The investigators in CILR are highly collaborative and strive to conduct their research studies using multidisciplinary approaches to study the immunology, physiology, pharmacology, and pathology of inflammatory diseases.

Lewis Katz School of Medicine
