The Department of Biochemistry and Neurology within the Emory University School of Medicine has a postdoctoral position
available to utilize mass spectrometry-based discovery and targeted proteomic and lipidomic applications to identify new biomarkers
for Parkinsons disease. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with significant experience in bioanalytical chemistry,
biochemistry, biostatistics or omics data analysis to join our group of highly successful investigators at Emory School of Medicine.
The candidate will work on projects to investigate the molecular mechanisms that drive neurodegeneration in Alzheimers,
Parkinsons and ALS using state of the art biochemical techniques including mass spectrometry (proteomics, lipidomics, metallomics).

The well qualified applicant will have a PhD in Biochemistry or closely related field and will have experience in the application of
mass spectrometry including data analysis of proteins, peptide and lipid data. The individual hired for this position will have
experience with analytical biochemistry and separation and analysis by liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
Experience with advanced mass spectrometry techniques including hydrogen deuterium exchange, ion mobility, native protein
characterization, ion mobility, collision induce unfolding and the quantification of post-translational modifications (PTMs) by mass
spectrometry are also desirable. Finally, the individual must also be able to work with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, and
communicate and write effectively as demonstrated by peer reviewed publications. The laboratory is well equipped with orbitrap,
QQQ and ion mobility TOF instrumentation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field. Excellent
scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills. The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.

Preferred Qualifications: PhD in biochemistry, chemistry or closely related field. Strong organization and

communication skills are needed to work efficiently in a team environment as demonstrated by peer reviewed publications.
