The Medical Technician serves as a Phlebotomist within VISN 12 Pathology & Laboratoy Medicine Service at VA Illiana Healthcare System located in Danville, IL.s and outpatients. DUTIES INCLUDE: Performs routine ventipuncture specimen collections from inpatients, outpatients, and ambulatory inpatients. Receives and sorts specimens, checks request slips for proper information and delivers specimens to various laboratory sections. Prepares samples for testing in the various clinical laboratory sections. Distributes, stores and delivers supplies and other materials used for phlebotomy services. Cleans and restocks the blood collection room and areas where collection trays and equipment are stored. Receives phlebotomy requests utilizing both manual and computerized ordering methods. Re-coll
