Provides laboratory services to patients of all ages
Performs, as assigned, all technical, pre-analytical, analytical, post-analytical, clerical, and quality assurance tasks and duties associated with laboratory testing in accordance with established standards and procedures. The Medical Technologist Lead
Performs all the duties of a Medical Technologist along with being responsible for the technical aspects of the department to which they are assigned and providing leadership to the department in the absence of laboratory management.
Validates pending test list and takes appropriate actions if test list appears to be inaccurate or incomplete.
Ensures proper operation of laboratory equipment and takes appropriate action in the event of abnormalities including daily quality assurance checks as needed. Documents as directed.
Performs testing as indicated, evaluates and documents results in LIS.
Performs quality control analyses according to department procedure and documents accordingly.
Performs phlebotomy / specimen collection as needed or directed and document results accordingly.
Complete proficiency testing procedure as directed for regulatory and accreditation comparisons.
Participates in laboratory teams, innovative projects, regulatory survey preparation, and special assignments as directed.
Bachelor’s degree required depending on department
One year of general clinical laboratory experience preferred. Will consider recent graduate
Certified in the area of Clinical Laboratory Science by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent
Must have an experience in Blood bank and Microbiology
