Under the supervision of the Direct of Laboratory standards, the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Analyst will manage LIS at Tenet Healthcare facilities. Responsibilities includes providing support to the Labâ��s business processes such as application design, build, implementation and support, including new test and product builds, client builds, application interfacing, on call coverage and charge master maintenance.
Major Areas of Responsibilities:
The Information Systems Analyst is responsible for the gathering and analysis of methods and procedures, providing design recommendations, operational instructions and computer program specifications, as well as testing and validation of the build. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Monitoring LIS performance to ensure end-user need are met
Assess available software upgrades and makes recommendations
Oversees all related interfaces to maintain required data flow necessary for timely turnaround of results
Evaluates data storage needs to ensure solutions meet data retrieval for patient care and report generation
Provide input into Tenetâ��s overall lab strategy by:
Assisting in tracking and interpreting national and state laboratory requirement
Develop collaborative relationships and networks within facility stakeholders to support complementary initiatives that can advance Tenetâ��s overall strategy
Create, maintain and provide educational offerings designed to inform Tenet staff regarding LIS solutions
Acts as liaison with vendors and attends vendor training

A minimum two years of experience in a clinical laboratory as a generalist
Ability to provides day-to-day support of enterprise Sunquest Lab applications currently in use to include General Laboratory, SMART, Microbiology and Blood Bank
Understand the safety rules and regulations, management techniques, laws and legal interpretations which influence the practice of medical technology
Maintain availability for LIS on call rotation, off-hours support
An understanding of clinical laboratory workflow and process
Ability to function in a high stress environment
Must be dependable and exhibit professionalism with high integrity
Demonstrate troubleshooting, project management and analytical skills
Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Teams and SharePoint
Has the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form to a widely diverse audience ranging from unskilled personnel to highly trained and experienced professionals
Knowledge of documentation necessary for state/federal inspection or audit
Previous knowledge and experience with the Cerner information system
Experience with RALS point of care system and HistoTrac HLA application.
Basic knowledge of Cerner Laboratory and PowerChart modules
Certification by ASCP or AMT as MT preferred
Bachelorâ��s degree in computer science, information technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, or related field
3+ years experience with current versions of Sunquest Laboratory Information System including Sunquest Co-Path
