The Manager of Configuration operates within Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) and is responsible for providing leadership in the configuration of information and transactional systems to achieve company and clinical services goals and objectives for medical equipment management / services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of the ROLE
Monitors existing system functionality and makes decisions to maintain acceptable levels of performance, reliability, and end user satisfaction. Provides consultative services by actively participating in and serving as subject matter expert on numerous cross-functional teams and projects, as well as troubleshooting inquiries and issues from other departments. Develops, maintains, and disseminates internal and external configuration documentation, including status updates and as appropriate department policies and procedures.
Research complex problems to ascertain possible solutions. Provides guidance to in the design and implementation of solutions to support key business objectives. Assesses design options and chooses best solution to fit business needs, considering interdepartmental impact when recommending solutions. Provides updates to leadership regarding system issues, concerns, and alternative options/resolutions as they pertain to new products, changes to current benefits and time constraints. Manages the professional and strategic relationships with consultants and vendors to build long-term, successful, and cost-effective partnerships beneficial to the health plan.
Analyzes and reports on performance of the team leveraging the database tools in the Microsoft Office suite of products (SSMS, Access, Excel, etc.) and other BSWH approved systems and technology. Ensures the quality and integrity of work requests though the use of production validation and audit strategies. Identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies through system enhancements and coordinates the system and/or process changes. Utilizes system development lifecycle methodology to implement system changes to production environments.
Leads a cross functional team with responsibility for all administrative and development of assigned staff. Manages the workflow of the team, ensuring that change requests are addressed promptly and that departmental policies are adhered to. Coordinates and manages projects that involve multiple teams within the department ensuring that the department is meeting its operational metrics and goals.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Demonstrated high level of competency in utilizing data analysis and query tools such as MS-Access, SQL, SSMS and MS-Excel / Access to identify root-cause issues.
Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, and allocating resources
Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to perform complex business and product requirement analysis.
Excellent project management skills. Identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with all levels of personnel.
Previous training and documentation experience preferred.
