The Department of Laboratory Medicine - Clinical Chemistry Laboratory at Park Street has available for hire a Full Time Middleware Application Specialist position.
This 40-hour position is 1st shift, Monday – Friday 8am-5pm. Rotating on-call support during non-business hours is required.
This position reports to the Laboratory Manager of the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory.
Responsibilities include monitoring of day-to-day operations and maintenance of the middleware systems and servers for chemistry automation. Responsible for maintaining change control processes and documentation. Will work routinely on special projects, custom automated rule logic, software maintenance, security and change control, and new test development. Coordinates the development of new rules and programming for new testing requirements. Candidates should be able to perform all of these duties comfortably and with minimal supervision.
Bachelor's of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Informatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent. MLS / MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent preferred. Minimum of (3) three years in Data Innovations, Laboratory Information Systems, Laboratory Middleware Applications and/or experience in a high complexity Clinical Chemistry laboratory required. Ability to communicate in an effective and professional manner with hospital staff and coworkers is required. Actions must consistently exemplify all HRO, CHAMP, Service Excellence and employee handbook guidelines. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required. Must have the ability to multi-task, problem solve, and work as a member of a diverse team.
