The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) invites applications and nominations for a collaborative leader to serve as the next Laboratory and Pathology Service Line (LPSL) Medical Director and Department of Pathology Vice-Chair for Clinical Operations. The LPSL Medical Director will be responsible for the overall clinical and operational performance of the laboratories that make up the service line and serve as CLIA director of UAMS hospital laboratories. (S)he will lead the expansion of laboratory and pathology services around the state of Arkansas as the UAMS health system expands its reach.
The UAMS Department of Pathology provides subspecialized anatomic and clinical pathology services, and the service line structure promotes physician leadership. Across our mission areas, we work closely with the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute and the active Myeloma Center. This is a full-time faculty appointment in the College of Medicine at a rank commensurate with the experience and academic achievement of the selected candidate for the position.
The ideal candidate must have a M.D. (or equivalent) or M.D./Ph.D., be board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology or Clinical Pathology, and be eligible for Arkansas State Medical licensure, with 7+ years of experience in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology; including 3+ years of leadership experience.
