DEPARTMENT OF PATHOLOGY, DIVISION OF LABORATORY MEDICINE THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABMA AT BIRMINGHAM
The Department of Pathology, Division of Laboratory Medicine, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible pathologist or PhD-trained individual for a tenure earning position at the open rank of Assistant/Associate Professor.Candidates must have completed a formal fellowship in Clinical Microbiology (American Board of Pathology or American Board of Medical Microbiology) and have significant research experience. A successful candidate will provide Clinical Microbiology services, develop an independent translational or basic science research program in infectious diseases, and participate in resident, fellow, and medical student teaching.
A pre-employment background investigation is performed on candidates selected for employment. In addition, physicians and other clinical faculty candidates who will be employed by the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation (UAHSF) or other UAB Medicine entities must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and nicotine screen to be hired.
