Medical Laboratory Scientist Job Family, Relocate to Anchorage, Alaska

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist with experience as a Core Laboratory Generalist and/or Microbiology Technologist in performing tests on biological substances within the medical field specializing in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology and transfusion medicine supportive to physicians and critical to patient care.
The successful candidate ensures sample suitability. Evaluates, judges and interprets test results and ensures accuracy. Trains and performs in accepting and processing samples for on-site testing or forwards to contracted reference laboratories.
Identifies and resolves inconsistencies in patient results. Maintains laboratory equipment and instruments. Ensures quality control and functionality of instruments. Prepares lab for inspection from regulatory institutions.
Provides customer service for questions directed at the laboratory. Answers questions from patient providers regarding test processes, patient results, or sample collection techniques. Participates in continuing education programs. Monitors, maintains, orders and stocks laboratory supplies.

Hourly salary: $26.50 to $39.00; depends on experience.
The successful candidate will have at a minimum:
Medical Laboratory Scientist I: A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, or related field and 1 year of experience. Must have ASCP certification or equivalent at time of hire.
Medical Laboratory Scientist II: A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, or related field and 1 year or more of experience. Must have ASCP certification or equivalent at time of hire.
Medical Laboratory Scientist III: A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, or related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience. Must have ASCP certification or equivalent at time of hire.
