Rush University Medical Center , a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for a Senior GI Interventionalist.

A strong record of collaborative leadership and commitment to excellence in clinical, research and academic service is essential. Ongoing research achievement, community engagement and educational excellence are highly desirable. The successful candidate must also be committed to mentoring faculty, trainees, and medical students. In addition, (s)he will have credentials that merit appointment as Associate Professor or Professor, will have an MD or equivalent degree, will be board certified, will possess a demonstrated commitment to innovation, and will have the leadership skills necessary for guiding faculty development and advancement across research, clinical and academic missions.

Candidates should be skilled in advanced therapeutics to complement our current group of two attendings in our interventional endoscopy unit. The group collaborate closely, both clinically and in research, with other groups at the medical center, including: allergy/immunology, where we have established a novel GI/adverse reactions to food clinic, colorectal surgery and oncology, with whom we support a comprehensive clinic for gastrointestinal cancers, bariatric surgery, ENT, pathology, and neurology. There is particular expertise in inflammatory bowel disease, GI Oncology, functional bowel disease, celiac disease, chronobiology and motility.

Rush GI has consistently been recognized as a top program across the nation. The program accepts 3 fellows in training per year and also have an advanced therapeutic training program that accepts one 4th year fellow per year. Currently the group covers two hospitals in the system (Rush University Medical Center and Rush Oak Park Hospital) in addition to two free-standing clinical sites in South Loop downtown and Oak Brook, Illinois.
