Work Hours/Shift:
PRN mostly Weekend Day/Night Shifts and may cover during the week if needed
 
You Will Be Responsible For:

A.  Age Specific Standard

  • 1.   Demonstrates the knowledge and skills required to collect and document data related to physical, psychosocial and developmental stages and complete interventions according to CT Scan procedures.
  • 2.   Communicates with parent/guardian/significant other regarding procedural issues and/or concerns based on level of comprehension, understanding and readiness to learn.
  • 3.   Maintains a safe environment utilizing appropriate equipment and safety devices, based on the patient’s age and level of cognition.
  • 4.   Performs CT Scan procedures utilizing approaches and equipment appropriate to the patient’s age and size.
  • 5.   Demonstrates ability to interpret age specific data; plan and implement CT Scan procedures based on interpretation of findings.
  • 6.   Provides educational support based on patient’s CT Scan procedure.
  • 7.   Demonstrates knowledge and skills of radiation safety parameters pertinent to CT Scan procedures.

B.  Supports the CT Department in the Performance of CT Scanning

  • 1.   Maintains operational equipment.
  • 2.   Prepares scan rooms for patient use.
  • 3.   Insures required supplies are available for each procedure.
  • 4.   Verifies the referring physician’s requests to insure the specified procedure is performed on the patient.
  • 5.   Insures the patient has a complete understanding of the procedure to be performed.
  • 6.   Properly administers IV and oral contrast media required for specified procedures.
  • 7.   Reviews images with Radiologist upon completion of the procedure.
  • 8.   Assists in the expeditious disposition of patients upon completion of the procedure.
  • 9.   Provides input in the development of new techniques and procedures.
  • 10. .Provides CT Scan procedures to all patients, regardless of age, race or sex

C.  Performs Quality Control Procedures on CT Scanners and Reports Equipment Failures to CT  Scan Supervisor as required

  • 1.   Performs quality control/assurance procedures as required by the Hospital and JCAHO.
D.   Performs Office Related Duties
  • 1.   Utilizes proper telephone etiquette on all telephone calls.
  • 2.   Completes the exam data entry properly and in a timely manner upon completion of the exam.
  • 3.   Informs clerical staff of add-on patients, cancellations and/or rescheduled exams.
E.  Follows Radiation Protection Guidelines
  • 1.   Wears TLD badge daily.
  • 2.   Utilizes gonadal shields when appropriate.
  • 3.   Uses radiation restrictive devices on all examinations.
  • 4.   Reviews quarterly radiation exposure reports.

F.  Performs Additional Duties as Required or Assigned

 

Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology school
  • ARRT
  • State of FL Radiologic Technologist
  • BLS
 
Job Summary:

The CT Scan Supervisor is responsible for personnel, financial and daily operations of the CT Scan Department Performs CT Scan procedures. Performs a variety of technical scanning procedures that require independent judgement and initiative as required in the application of ionizing radiation for CT Scan diagnostic procedures.
