We are:

The Department of Pathology - a collaborative team focused on one goal: delivering the proper scientific diagnosis in the most expert manner. We receive approximately 25,000 major surgical resection specimens and perform about 45 autopsies annually. We have recently completed renovation of our entire Surgical Laboratories - Gross Room, including 15 ThermoFisher senior grossing stations, Histology Lab and IHC Lab.

Cytology is a branch of pathology that focuses on the study and diagnosis of diseases on the cellular level. We are currently seeking a Cytotechnologist to join our team.

You Will:

  • Microscopically examine preparations for cytologic evaluation, correlating clinical information with morphologic findings to make a final diagnosis on negative gynecologic slides and render a microscopic assessment on abnormal gynecologic and all non-gynecologic specimens pending final diagnosis by a pathologist.
  • Collaborate with the customers of the laboratory to promote customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in laboratory performance improvement activities.
  • Provide specimen adequacy assessment for busy, high volume FNA service.

You Have :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences or related field and graduation from CAAHEP accredited cytotechnology training program. CT(ASCP) certified or eligible required
  • Experience with Thin Prep Imaging System preferred
  • New York State Department of Education Cytotechnologist license required.
  • NY State Dept of Health Cytotechnologist Registration required.
  • Excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills.
