Laboratory Supervisor FT Days Marana and St. Raphael's

Carondelet�s Marana Hospital (located at 5620 West Cortaro Farms Road, Tucson, AZ 85742) serves Marana and the surrounding communities in the northwest Tucson area. The eight-inpatient bed hospital will offer 24-hour emergency care and surgical services with around-the-clock general surgery, hospitalist and emergency physician coverage. Designed as a neighborhood hospital focused on quality medical care, convenience and efficiency, the facility is smaller in scale than a typical general hospital. Like its larger Carondelet sister hospitals, it has an ER, surgical suite, diagnostic imaging, laboratory and other services. Carondelet Marana Hospital includes a 13-bed emergency department open 24/7. Patients with abdominal pain, sprains and broken bones, cardiac arrhythmias, seizures, minor trauma, lacerations, bladder infections, dehydration, pneumonia and flu are typical of illnesses expected to be treated in the hospital�s ER. An operating room and eight inpatient rooms will be available for lower acuity procedures such as gall bladder surgery and appendectomies.

JOB SUMMARY

Incumbent assists Manager. Incumbent integrates, implements, and monitors all departmental procedures and processes. Incumbent helps implement and monitor the technical and quality assurance standards and procedures. Incumbent is accountable for staff performance and provision of care within the Department of Laboratory Services. Monitor fiscal and budgetary operations and provide support for the vision and direction of the product/service line. Responsible for ongoing interface and frequent communication with patients, customers, employees and management. Effectively manage change, facilitate innovation and foster teambuilding to provide the highest quality and most cost effective laboratory product possible Incumbent is responsible for tracking problems involving patient care delivered from their designated areas. Incumbent is responsible for scheduling in-services of new staff and students. Responsible for monitoring of proficiency, annual educational requirements, and competency testing of all staff working in their designated department

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Required: ASCP, NCA or equivalent, which meets CLIA 88 criteria.

EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor (BS, BA) in clinical laboratory sciences area or any related field OR completion of BS/BA within twelve months of hire

WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: 5 years related experience, 5 years supervisory
Preferred: Experience in multi-hospital system
