The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB), School of Health Professions, invites applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences. An experienced academician with a commitment to innovation, collaboration and scholarship is sought to lead the department in its teaching, research, and clinical service missions. The successful applicant will be appointed to a 12-month tenure track position at the rank of either Associate Professor or Professor. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience; excellent benefits and highly competitive startup packages are offered. Relocation expenses are also provided. The UTMB CLS program was the first academically based program in Texas and the Southwestern U.S. The Department offers Baccalaureate in CLS, Masters in CLS, Transfusion Medicine and Pathologists’ Assistant and Doctorate of CLS degrees. Programs in the department. It is one of seven academic units within the School of Health Professions. Established in 1968, the UTMB School of Health Professions was the first allied health school in the Southwest. Applications will be accepted and reviewed until the position is filled. Qualifications include an earned doctoral degree in medical lab sciences, health sciences, education or a related area, certification as a MLS(ASCP) or MT(ASCP) and academic and working experience as a clinical/medical laboratory scientist including teaching and program administration in an academic-based, NAACLS-accredited, MLS education program. |
