The Research Scientist develops and works on an independent research project that furthers the goals of the Investigator. To be effective in this role, it is expected that the Research Scientist have numerous peer review publications. The Research Scientist may be required to supervise or train other research personnel such as Post-Doctoral Fellows or Research Assistants, as needed for the project. He/she may apply for smaller grants or awards and eventually, with approval of the Baylor Institute for Immunology Research (BIIR) Director, for an NIH R01 grant or equivalent. The Research Scientist is also expected to contribute significantly to the Investigator's grant proposal developments and the subsequent Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocols that may be necessary for the project. The Research Scientist will be expected to present at BIIR Works-in-Progress Seminars and may serve as a liaison with external departments.  

 

This postdoc scientist will be working on studies related to the psychological impact of COVID-19 with the Trauma Research group. We have funding available for 2 years at this time.

 

Ideal candidate will have a PhD, at least 5 years of experience, and a track record of being consistently published in their field.

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - PhD in Clinical Psychology or related field 

- EXPERIENCE - A minimum of 3 years experience required
