| Description Path Support Representative - Medical Transcription JOB SUMMARY: Position works closely with another administrative position and other laboratory staff to ensure prompt turnaround of in-house cases, as well as consult cases from outside hospitals. Work includes accessioning, transcription of reports using Express Scribe and micro-cassette transcription, customer support, mailing of reports and materials, faxing, and filing along with some non-clinical support. The primary focus of the position supports patient care. Work Hours: Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the caseload. The two support positions, work staggered schedules to provide coverage for early cases and faxing of reports in the afternoon. Coverage can span from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Schedule may include overtime. Department Summary: The Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology at Vanderbilt has a long and rich history of excellence in teaching, clinical service, and research.
