Busy dermatology office seeking Mohs Histotech to provide high-quality histologic specimens for microscopic evaluation and review by the Mohs Surgeon while also serving the needs of the Mohs laboratory. 2 years Histotech experience preferred, but not required. Must be able to work independently.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Prepare quality slides for microscopic examination by embedding specimens and performing the sectioning of frozen specimens using the Cryostat
Perform routine H&E stains for microscopic diagnosis by the Mohs Surgeon
Perform special staining as required (Mart-1, etc.) *training available*
Mount, label and stain the slides
Maintenance of applicable laboratory equipment including cleaning and calibration
Maintain quality control records for equipment and instruments
Prepare and maintain adequate stock of reagents and other materials needed for the laboratory
Recognize laboratory equipment issues/concerns and take appropriate corrective action
Ensure that the laboratory is compliant with applicable laws and regulations
Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
Other duties as needed
